John and I had the pleasure of taking a trip to Nashville before all the madness with Covid happened. Nashville has always been on my bucket list so I am happy we were able to get this trip in – right before my 30th birthday!
We were there for 6 days. John went for business (2 days) and we extended the trip so we could explore! I am going to share with you all what we did / must see things in Nash! I am hoping this is a helpful guide for when you want to book your Nashville trip!
Like I mentioned above, John was here for business so the first 2 days I explored Nashville by myself (for the most part!) We stayed at Moxy (Downtown Nashville). Although this was less than a block away from the main strip, this hotel was not my favorite but since he was here for business that is what they booked us. I am not sure if anyone has been to a Moxy before. They are very clean and gorgeous, but so small! Definitely a hotel to stay at if you are on a trip for 1-2 days, the most!
Places to Eat:
Pancake Pantry- we ate here twice it was so delicious! I ordered the blueberry pancakes 🙂
Biscuit Love– a MUST eat in Nashville! This is part of the Gulch neighborhood. I am not a biscuit person, but these were heavenly. This is where you can find the neon Nashville sign (pictured above!) Usually there are long lines, but since we went early during the week we lucked out!
Haddie Bs– if you like spice this place is for you! We had chicken (and other goodies) delivered to an event we had out there for John’s work. Although I am not a spice person I had to try it – definitely too hot for me but a must try when in Nash!
The Legendairy– have a sweet tooth craving? Definitely check out this milkshake bar! Located in Downtown Nashville, a quick walk from our hotel. Honestly, I came here for a cute IG picture (lol – guilty!!). The shake was very good, but way too much on it. You can definitely share with whoever you are with!
The Diner Nashville- (7 Story Diner Downtown) super cool to see, but the food was not my favorite.
5 Daughters Bakery– located in 12 South (residential neighborhood), they have amazing donuts! A nice little pick me up while shopping around 😉
The Hampton Social- this was my FAVORITE place to eat/hangout in Nashville! The aesthetic was so cute! I loved the atmosphere. It is definitely an Instagrammable spot! If you go- get the Frosé! Pictured below is a grilled cheese and tomato soup- so yummy!
Wall Murals:
Drippy Lips-Â This is such a cute wall mural especially for lipstick lovers like myself! It is located in Hillsboro Village (around the corner from Pancake Pantry!)
What Lifts You- This is the wall mural of Nashville! There are lines to get a picture in front of this famous wall mural- we lucked out and there was absolutely no one around! I am assuming it is because of the drizzle and we also went during the week.
I Believe in Nashville–Â this is located in 12 South, right outside of Draper James (I will discuss this shop later on). Super cute!
Nashville Looks Good On You– A mural located in 12 South right behind some shops in a parking lot. Definitely worth the photo op!
Looking Pretty Music City– Another mural location in 12 South; located behind Madewell!
Shops:
Draper James: Reese Witherspoons store located in 12 South! This is such a cute, feminine store! I loved everything down to the marble kitchen island inspired cash wrap! Upon arrival they greet you with sweet tea, which is delicious by the way! There is a photo op right outside the store by the infamous blue and white stripe wall. Also out there you’ll find the “I believe in Nashville” wall mural pictured above!
There are other cute boutiques located up and down the main street, but Draper James was the one worth noting!
Kittenish- Jessie James Deckers store located in the Gulch! Walking distance from Biscuit Love and right near the “What Lifts You” wall mural. This is another adorable shop! I bought a pair of sweatpants with cheetah print down the side; super cute and affordable! You can find the “Nashville Stole My” wall decor in the store (pictured above).
Uncommon James: Kristin Cavallari’s store also located in the Gulch! This store is very chic and the jewelry is so dainty.
Other Notable Places:
Frothy Monkey–cute coffee shop located in 12 South!
Pinewood Social– an industrial chic place you can eat, drink cocktails, or go bowling! Yes bowling! It was a rainy day in Nashville, so we decided to do an indoor activity. Even if it isn’t raining this is a trendy spot to visit!
Downtown Nashville Bars/Restaurants-Â Honky Tonk Central, FGL House (drinks were so good!), The Stage, Kid Rocks Bar- there is always live music everywhere you go!
Grand Ole Opry– must see in Nashville, also near the outlets if you wanted to do some shopping right after (or before!)
Graceland– located in Memphis and is a 3 hour+ drive from Nashville. We rented a car for the day, woke up really early, and started our adventure to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. It was a very educational experience with LOTS to do. What I wish we did was get a hotel in Memphis so we didn’t have to rush to get back to Nashville to bring our car back. However, this was our last day in Tennessee, so we needed to be back in Nashville anyway to get to the airport 🙂
I hope this was a helpful guide! Comment below with any additional questions and/or comments! Let me know if you venture out to Nashville 🙂
